Torrance Information

Torrance is a city located in the southwestern part of Los Angeles County, California, often referred to as the South Bay.

With a population of approximately 150,000, it is the sixth largest city in Los Angeles County. It is a city of diverse residents, communities, and businesses. Although Torrance has 1.5 miles of coastline, it is known as the U.S. headquarters of two of the three largest Japanese automakers, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. and American Honda Motor Company. Its immediate neighbors to the north (Redondo Beach) and south (Palos Verdes) are better known for their coastline communities.

Torrance enjoys major employers within its city limits, including American Honda, Robinson Helicopter, Alcoa Fastening Systems, Honeywell Aerospace, Hi Shear Corporation, L-3 Communications Electron Tech, Inc., and Exxon Mobil Oil Corporation to name a few (the ExxonMobil refinery in the north end of the city is responsible for much of Southern California's gasoline supply).
